The Nissan Pixo name has returned on a brand-new electric city car, with first deliveries expected in early 2027.

It's compact, full of character and built for town driving, with a surprisingly practical cabin for its size.

A small car built for town

The original Pixo disappeared more than a decade ago. The new one is just under 3.8 metres long, which makes it easy to park and to nip around busy streets.

It's based on the new Renault Twingo and is built alongside it at Renault's Novo Mesto factory in Slovenia. Nissan has given the Pixo its own styling, and it joins the all-electric Micra in Nissan's European range.

02

What does it look like?

The Pixo has its own front and rear design, so it doesn't look like a rebadged Twingo. Bright Wonder Purple and Gear Blue paint finishes help it stand out.

Inside the Pixo

There's a 7-inch digital driver's display and a 10-inch central touchscreen with built-in Google navigation. Google's Gemini assistant is available at launch, so you can speak to the car naturally rather than learning set commands.

The cleverest feature is the sliding rear seats. Slide them forward for more boot space, or back when you need room for passengers.

How does it drive?

A single front-mounted electric motor produces 60kW (82PS), with 0 to 62mph taking around 12 seconds. That won't set any records, but in town the instant electric response makes it feel nippy.

A tight 9.9-metre turning circle helps in car parks and narrow streets, and hands-free parking is available.

Range and charging

The 27.5kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery gives up to 161 miles of WLTP range. That's firmly city car territory, but more than enough for most daily driving.
